Green Building Design Consultants designed a cost-effective and energy efficient heating and cooling system for this 950 sq. metre Category A fit out at Wellbrook Industrial Estate, Girton.

The system included new air conditioning and ventilation throughout as well as lighting, electrics, under-floor busbar power, floor boxes and domestic water heating.

A major challenge was designing a mechanical and electrical layout to fit within the existing 100mm deep ceiling void without lowering the suspended ceiling or making any structural modifications to the building. This was achieved by detailed CAD modelling and careful positioning of ductwork.

Working for Bidwells of Cambridge, engineers from Green Building Design Consultants also attended site to supervise and review the installation which commenced in January and completed in May 2016.
